Ever since I have been concerned with the danger to the sea from pollution and overfishing.
By the end of 2010 I was also implementing this in my artwork.
At the first glance I show a colourful paradise world. Only when you take a closer look, you will become irritated.
In my work, I document the traces of our affluent society on the coats. Some times after years of ocean currents flush the disposed plastic waste from distance countries to the European beaches. My assemblage works capture moments when the Spray of a big wave disapears in the sand and fishing net pieces, parts of driftwood and roots of old trees exposed.
Matirials of nature unite with colorful plastic, the signs of our now a days fast moving culture. On thin metal plates as a base material, my finds are embedded in a material mix of bone glue, pure color pigments and plaster.
